About Albion, MI - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
Located in south-central Michigan, Albion is a bustling city with about 8,700 residents. It is situated within Calhoun County, and after its settlement in 1835, it was originally known as a factory town. Now home to Albion College, the community culture is changing to that of a college town and a great place to raise a family. After annexation in 2016, the community is now part of Marshall Public Schools, which includes Marshal High School.
There are a number of things to see and do in Albion. Residents enjoy several local events throughout the year, including the Albion Aglow Parade, the Cardboard Sled Race, and Festival of the Forks. The Albion River Trail is open to running, biking, walking, or rollerblading, and families with young children may like to visit the Kids ‘N’ Stuff Children’s Museum for some hands-on learning. Albion is home to unique dining experiences like Foundry Bakehouse and Deli and the Albion Malleable Brewing Company, while specialty shops include Dickerson Music Company and Pure Albion.
The climate of Albion is typical of a humid continental zone. Residents should prepare their homes with the right climate control systems, including a central air conditioning unit for use during the summer. Very warm conditions with high humidity are possible throughout the summer months, which can make temperatures rise even further indoors. The right A/C unit will provide consistent cooling to an entire space, improving comfort levels indoors.
Cold and snowy conditions are typical in the region during the winter months. Temperatures often fall below freezing, especially overnight, so it is vital that residents choose the right gas or electric furnace at home to stay safe. While the minimum AFUE rating for new furnace systems is 80%, options are available all the way up to 96%. Depending on how frequently Albion residents use their furnaces, systems with higher ratings can lead to significant utility bill reductions.
