About Springfield, MI - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
Springfield is a growing city located in Calhoun County, Michigan. As of the 2010 census, about 5,260 people resided here, many of which commute into nearby Battle Creek for work. In fact, Springfield is an enclave of Battle Creek, so it shares many of the same services and attractions.
There are many interesting places to visit in the city. Springfield is known for its year-round farmers’ market, which provides the community with fresh, local produce. Outdoor recreation is plentiful in the community at Begg Park, Upton Park, and B. Carol Hinton Park. Springfield offers one of the best disc golf courses in the state, and it hosts numerous tournaments every year including the 2008 Disc Golf World Championships. Restaurants are also available in Springfield and include Mr. Don’s Restaurant, El Taco, and JB’s Whiskey.
Springfield has a Midwestern humid continental climate with influence from the Great Lakes. Winters here are cold, and snowfall is moderate to heavy. Temperatures often fall below freezing, and residents retreat to the safety of their gas or electric furnace indoors to stay warm. In fact, a new, high-efficiency furnace may save up to 50% in operating cost over a decade-old furnace. The minimum AFUE rating for a furnace sold in the U.S. today is 80%, but models of the 90s may have ratings of 65% or less. An upgrade to a new system is a wise investment that can leave money in your pocket.
Summers in Springfield are humid and very warm. July is the hottest season of the year, and average daily highs reach about 82 degrees Fahrenheit. Most residents opt for central air conditioning to improve comfort levels at home throughout this season. The right central air conditioner will provide consistent, uniform cooling throughout an entire space – an upgrade to window units that simply cool off a single room.
